AN ICONIC WOMAN: NSE IKPE- ETIM

In the past, we’ve had people who think women can never amount to a certain height. But for Nse Ikpe Etim, that’s just a fairy tale.
While growing up she encountered a lot of challenges, but didn’t get weighed down by those obstacles, because she’s a passionate person, She likes giving her best, especially when it comes to acting.
In an interview, when asked about her challenging roles? She said ‘’Let me say that my most challenging role hasn’t come yet,I m grateful to the directors I have worked with and their impact on me. I m also grateful for those productions, but I still think that we can go further. I haven’t reached the point that I will say I can’t do this anymore. So I think I still have the most challenging roles ahead of me, it is still yet to come”. That is one brave woman I love so much.
Nse Ikpe-Etim is a Nigerian award winning actor, model and film maker. Born on the 21st of October 1974, in Kaduna state. She is the first child of the family. She is a native of Akwa Ibom, she started her primary education at the Awa Nursery School and command Primary School in Kaduna State. Due to the fact that her father worked in the central bank of Nigeria, they often got transferred to different state, so she had her secondary education in Louis College Jos, and the Federal Government College in Jos and Ilorin.
She attended the University of Calabar, where she bagged a first degree in Theatre Art. Immediately she began her career as an actor in the Movie Industry, she became prominently in 2008 for her role in the film ‘reloaded’.
After a while, she took a break from acting, and worked brief in the banking sector. And at a certain time, she worked as an OP (On-Air-Personality) for Rhythm and Cool FM. She got nominated for a ‘Best Actress in a leading role’ at the 5th and 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards for her role in ‘Reloaded’ and ‘Mr. and Mrs’ Respectively.
She got married to her childhood friend, Mr. Clifford Sule. On the 14th of February 2013, at the Lagos Registry.
At a certain occasion in Lekki Lagos state tagged ‘conversation with Nse’, she said her womb was removed to measure a normal life. According to her, she said ‘’she was diagnosed three years ago with Adenomyosis, a condition whereby the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus, adding that she had to get rid of her uterus, so as to measure a traditional life.’’ I was told I couldn’t have kids, so I had to possess a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) to form me have a life again and to prevent browsing, what I used to be browsing.

In 2014, she won the award of ‘Best Actress in a Drama’ at the 2014 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) for playing ‘’Nse’’ in ‘Journey to self’. She’s also appeared in films like; Fine wine, Fifty, king of boys, glamour girls and a Song from the Dark.
Behind the screens, she has a brief stint in the fashion business. In her spare time, she loves to read, write, cook, watch football and play scrabble. Nse appears to have an estimated net worth of about $1 million. On Instagram, she has a whopping 1 million follower’s, who love and admire her works, as an astonishing actress who pulls up in her roles when needed.

Actress Nse Ikpe –Etim is one of the few Nigerian actresses that have left her foot print in the Nigerian Movie Industry, considering how influential she has been in recent years.
