Ruth Otabor passed away on August 31, 2025, after spending many days in the hospital following an accident between a Dangote truck at Auchi Polytechi in Edo State on August 13, 2025, and a bike.
The sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, After a near death accident involved on the 13th August, 2025, her leg was amputed and she has been recieving treatment since before she finaly passed away in the letter released online by the Otabor family Solicitor. 
After a few hours when the Otabor released a letter announcing the death of Ruth, the Dangote Group also on Sunday evening expressed condolences to the family, over the death of, Ruth Otabor.
The Otabor family is currently in mourning, as are all of the admirers of Ruth Otabor’s sister, Ijeoma Josephina, commonly known as Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7. As they get ready for Ruth’s funeral, the family hopes to receive justice.
