The true story of Annie Idibia



Every stage of life has lessons to teach about a variety of subjects. The circumstances one would find oneself in a situation that doesn’t automatically set the compass for the future.But a man can choose where he would be; it’s only embedded in decisions, carefully thought and crafted about tomorrow.

Born Annie Macaulay in Ibadan on November 13, 1984, Annie Idibia is originally from Eket in Nigeria’s Akwa Ibom State. She and her mother moved to Lagos State after her parents’ divorce. Given what she experienced at a very young age, Annie’s childhood has been unique. Having attended Federal Government College, Ijanikin, Lagos State. She skipped lunches in school and got things prepared for the food she would sell in the evening with her mother, just to raise enough funds for her school.

Due to her perseverance and keen attitude, she became an outstanding student who aced mathematics and physics courses.

Which led to one of her biggest feats in life. After graduating from Lagos State University and the University of Lagos with a degree in computer science and theatre arts, that opened a new portal to the entertainment industry.

Annie is currently a Nigerian model, presenter, and actress. She was nominated in the “Best Supporting Actress” category at the 2009 Best of Nollywood Awards. She has starred in films like First Family, Pleasure and Crime (2010), White Chapel (2011), Young, Famous & African, etc.

In the year 2012, she got married to Innocent Idibia (2Baba/2Face), a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and record producer.

Annie Idibia kickstarted her foundation in the year 2015, with a mission to give back and contribute to society at large.

The Annie Idibia Care Foundation kicks off its initiative to empower African women and youths with easy-to-start business skills and ideas to open their minds, explore the business world, and become financially independent, with a focus on people with intellectual disabilities and anyone who is perceived to be different.

She wrote, Annie Idibia Care Foundation is a NOT FOR PROFIT organisation founded and supervised by Mrs. Annie M. Idibia with a focus to share and exchange empowering intelligence, knowledge, and ideas and provide support to African women and youths through an engaging world-class vocational training concept, funding educational bills, and providing healthcare support. We are on a mission to honour and empower a better world through kindness and innovations & to create initiatives that educate, inform, and inspire women & youths across Africa.

We are most willing to work with interested personalities, celebrities and other international Not for institutions to reach a world unheard.

Annie Idibia was announced as one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Africa by Global Unity Women International on the 7th of October 2024. The organisation honoured Annie at the International Women’s Empowerment and Sustainable Development Summit.

Annie’s recognition is a testament to her immense talent, charisma, and dedication to social impact work. Her passion for women’s empowerment and success in both fashion and business. She has been an inspiration to many, and this recognition solidifies her position as a key influencer in Africa and globally.

Annie’s story has spanned a lot of conversations, highlighting the essence of making an impact while being famous. The organisation has let off productive people who would become future leaders and activists against a cruel society. Never letting an end to start a beginning, Annie’s story has just begun.

When her ex-lover announced on Instagram that their marriage was ending on Sunday night, Annie’s entire world fell apart. On January 26, 2025, the well-known Nigerian music icon 2Baba declared on his Instagram page that he and Annie were ending their relationship and that they were awaiting a formal divorce.
The musician said that his devoted fans should know what has happened between him and his estranged wife, so he promised to release a statement shortly to give them his side of the story.
