THE UNTOLD SAGA OF EMEKA NOBIS

What comes to mind when you see a full bearded man of average height, walk towards you in hat? He steps are as silent as your wandering thoughts. When proximity becomes close, you receive a shock, you feel the touch of human across your back, a warmth pat. It calms you, it brings you home from your wandering thought. “Wow! So humans can be kind?”
This was my testimony when I met with Nigeria’s Don, Emeka Nobis. This will be your testimony when you meet with him. So, do not be scared for the joy of his friendly euphoria. Well, I must warn, “If you ever have access to great personalities, never take it for granted. So, while you smile, bow your head in respect.”
Nigeria hosts majority of the brillants minds in Africa and the Don of Shameless Marketing is one. He is not just among the many brillant Nigerians, he leads the pack. I came in contact with Sir. Emeka Nobis in 2022. Ever since, I have made up my mind to learn of him. From being his keen facebook follower to attending his tour at the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria, reading his book, purchasing his online courses. Now, I am about to be mentored by him.
Do you know what it feels like?
Indeed, there are certain rooms you need to be in to access certain persons. You wonder at how much I reverence this great man. Well, it was not always like this. His Rome was not built in a day.
Emeka Nobis was born on 1st July, 1980 to a Father who is an Agronomist and a Mother, who is a retired a teacher. He is the first child of five children. He grew in an average Nigerian family, where the father could provide the basic needs for the family. Life was fair until 1990.
In 1990, the family hit the rock, his father had resigned from his place of work. So, the family had to move from the estate where they resided to a suburb in Owerri.
He graduated best in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Owerri and began building his way up as a Mechanical Engineer, one of such move includes his preparation to be a cerified Engineer by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). As at then, he worked with Saipem. So, the young Nobis, was on track to reach the pinnacle of his career as a Mechanical Engineer.
In 2007, as a twenty-six year old, on a trip to Italy sponsored by the company he worked for, Saipem, he heard a voice in the restroom, “Is this what you will be doing for the rest of your life?” At the utterance of these words, he became restless. All the way in Italy till he came back to Nigeria, the voice whispered. When he questioned the question in his head, the voice answered, “You have hands to write and voice to speak, use them to bless humanity.”
You see, it may take the voice in your head to whisper truth to you.
By the time he left paid employment, he had to adjust his standard of living. Of cause, transitioning from paid employment to being self employed is not a walk in the park, so it was for the transitioning Nobis.
One month after leaving his paid employment, he had lost one of his big clients.
One of his many encounters as shared by him was when he had transitioned and had low cash flow that resulted in the inability to pay his children fee. How disheartening he felt. At this junction, he knew he needed to act fast or dance to the music of seeking for a paid employment.
“You have hands to write and voice to speak, use them to bless humanity.” This voice spoke in the mist of the turbulence. This time, the voice spoke in actions. In seven hours, the perturbed father had put together a solution that would sell to needing writers who were faced with a specific challenge in the writing industry. He had created a landing page and called for purchase of the book. He made ten sales on the product before he left the Coffee shop – where he went to have a lone time, working on his product.
Overtime, Emeka Nobis learnt from his downtime, leverage his lessons to build a better future. Today, he is recognized as the Don of Shameless Marketing in Nigeria. He has made reoccurring seven figures as an information product creator.
While making my research about my role model, Sir. Emeka Nobis, I cannot cease to wonder at how strategic he was with his rising, he is particular about human
capital. He believes that for a man to sustain his relevance, he must invest in human capital.
I am a beneficiary of this kind gesture. Today, I am registered to be mentored by this sage of our time.
An open secret about The Don, is his intellectual sagacity and clean humour. Those who are not inclusive in collating information and discerning in digesting wisdom, flagrantly show case their frustration through online unwarranted drag under his comment section. The Don has the keys to increased visibility and uses this tool to his advantage.
This is the rising of the Don of Shameless Marketing, who heeded to the whispers in his head and today, uses his hands and voice to bless humanity while balancing impact for passion and business for impact.
